Do you know the meaning of the title of “Jujutsu Kaisen”?

Do you guys know what is the meaning of “Jujutsu Kaisen”?

It’s amazing. Too much genius.

If you don’t understand Japanese, especially Kanji, you don’t understand.

But I want fans all over the world who like Jujutsu Kaisen to know the meaning of this title.

It has a lot of meanings.

I would like to share the meaning of this with you guys.

I’m sure you’ll have the same reaction as I did when I find out.

”Gege Akutami is Genius…!!?”

I was shaken out of my mind.

That’s how shocking and wonderful it is.

I’ve gotten so many responses on Twitter.

I will show you more details!

Meaning of “Jujutsu Kaisen”

Jujutsu Kaisen(呪術廻戦) contains three words.

・呪術(Jujutsu)

・廻(Kai)

・戦(Sen)

呪術(Jujutsu):Curse

It is the most important element in this manga.

If you search for it, this is the meaning.

“To make something happen by borrowing the power of something supernatural or mystical. Spells, magic, etc.”

廻(Kai):Going round

Things come and go, and they are repeated over and over again.

In fact, the story of Jujutsu Kaisen is also going round.

I think everyone who reads this blog knows that.

There’s a lot of foreshadowing.

I think that’s one of the reasons why people like Jujutsu Kaisen so much.

That’s why this word is in the title.

There’s nothing useless in Jujutsu Kaisen.

戦(Sen):Battle

So the title “Jujutsu Kaisen” means “Thec Curse(呪術/Jujutsu) battle(戦/Sen) and the story is going round(廻/Kai)”.

In fact, there have been many examples of this. Some things are actually going round.

I will introduce 4 of them!

1) Back cover of a book

Did you guys check it out?

In Jujutsu Kaisen, you can’t be careless about even a single panel or a single page.

Just zooming in on the iPad is not enough.

It’s so detailed that I’m thinking I should buy a microscope.

Now, let’s take a look at the back cover.

From volume 1 to volume 13, it shows an ordinary landscape.

However, from volume 14, the picture on the back cover has changed.

Did you guys notice that?

Volume 14 has the same scenery as the back cover of volume 1, and volume 15 has the same scenery as volume 2.

The only thing different was the addition of Yuji and Megumi.

Perhaps this will be repeated in volume 16 and beyond as well.

Oh no, Gege-Sensei has been, and will continue to be, foreshadowing.

In a few weeks, a few months, a few years, we’ll be screaming.

I don’t know if we’ll be screaming “Gegeeee” or “Yuuuuuji”.

I’m sure there’s something in there that will make the fans swoon.

One thing I do know.

We’ll always be at the mercy of Gege-Sensei….lol

I just want to remind you.

This is exactly what I mean when I say that ”the story is going round”.

2) Story

I want you to check the story.

A thousand years ago, Curse was at its peak in “the Heian period” (The last division of classical Japanese history, running from 794 to 1185).

Sukuna was feared as a curse, and sorcerers were so active.

And now, the same thing is about to happen.

Sukuna is reviving with Yuji as a vessel, and Kenjaku is trying to recreate the Heian period.

The history of Japan is about to happen again in a manga.

It’s not just a manga, it might be a textbook for us.

3)Narrative Structure

I want you to compare Ch.72 with Ch.144.

They look similar, don’t they?

You can see that there are many similar descriptions.

For example, the elevator and the shadows on the tunnel.

I don’t think this is a coincidence.

Gege-Sensei must have done this intentionally.

One more thing.

The blood that Yuji saw.

This is the blood mark from the fight between Geto and Toji.

What happened in Ch.72 is being remembered again now.

That alone is amazing, but not that surprising compared to the others.

But look at the number of Chapters!!!

72 and 144.

That’s half the number.

This is what Gege-Sensei wanted to do?!

I think Gege-Sensei is aiming to draw this too.

How much of this is set in stone?

He’s drawing this for a weekly magazine…

I really think he’s a genius. Crazy genius…!

4) Interview with Gege Akutami-Sensei

This is the last time.

Unfortunately, you can’t watch it overseas, but he said on a TV show called Mando Kobayashi.

“I chose this title in order to match the meaning of the story”

He mentioned it in an interview.

By the way, Gege-Sensei in Mechamaru.

This has nothing to do with what I said, but the quality of the cosplay is also high.

So this wasn’t a coincidence, it was done intentionally!!

By the way, I would also like to introduce the main personality of this program, Kendo Kobayashi.

He is a famous Japanese comedian.

Perhaps because of this appearance, he appeared in Ch.146 as a Ken look-alike.

I didn’t realize that the title “Jujutsu Kaisen” contained so much meaning.

Akutami Gege is truly a genius. That’s why I’m a fan of this manga.

I’m going to read it again so that I don’t miss the hints that this genius gives me.
