Dive Into the Action with Haikyuu!! The Movie: An Epic Volleyball Experience
The international screening schedule for "Haikyuu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump" was announced.
Having seen it recently myself, I’m eager to share my thoughts.
Kenma played by Yūki Kaji
The story closely follows the original manga, centering around Kenma Kozume, the setter from Nekoma High School. I was once again astounded by Yūki Kaji's performance as Kenma.

Known for voicing Eren Yeager in "Attack on Titan," Meliodas in "The Seven Deadly Sins," and Shoto Todoroki in "My Hero Academia," Kaji's vocal charm is indescribable—truly magnificent! To our international fans, I urge you: please watch it with the original Japanese audio.
Director Mitsunaka’s work deserves a mention too.
Having set a high standard with the quality of the TV series up to its third season, expectations for the movie were sky-high. Thankfully, it doesn’t disappoint, maintaining high quality throughout, with laugh-out-loud moments and flashbacks perfectly placed, ensuring there's never a dull moment. Despite its 85-minute runtime, it's so engrossing that it feels like it's over in just 30 minutes—a true testament to its compelling storytelling.
The Movie Is a Must-See Again and Again
For fans, this movie hits all the right notes, likely rewatched by many in Japan. Among my circle, particularly among women, there are many who've seen it multiple times. Will you join their ranks?
Take a look at the Final act, it's stunning!
The highlight of the film for me was undoubtedly the immersive match experience. Initially, it didn’t seem much different from the series, but the final act completely changed my perspective. A breathtaking final shot makes the entire movie worth watching. The blend of animation and CG creates a hybrid that feels as if you’re right in the middle of the action, with Kenma’s POV shots moving almost 180 degrees horizontally and 90 degrees upwards—something best experienced on the big screen.
Natsuki Hanae on credits?
Kenma’s line after the match ends is also noteworthy, leading to a surprise post-credits scene featuring Natsuki Hanae. Did you catch him? He appears as a quirky character from Kamomedai High School, setting the stage for eagerly anticipated sequels.
