Why BOOK OFF Shinjuku is a Must-Visit for Every Anime Enthusiast
Ever heard of "BOOK OFF"?
It's a renowned second-hand store in Japan, famous for more than just books. Originally focusing on books and manga, it now boasts an impressive range of items including figures, acrylic stands, badges, and plushies.
I highly recommend a visit to the Shinjuku BOOK OFF.
The place is expansive with a vast selection of merchandise. It's quickly become a favorite of mine, and I bet it'll be yours too.
Why visit?
Aside from the extensive stock and spacious setting, it's a treasure trove of jump, anime, and ikemen (handsome idol group) merchandise. It's well-stocked yet not overcrowded, making it an ideal spot for fans.
Take a peek at the photos in this blog. They'll give you a glimpse into why I highly recommend this spot for anyone interested in anime culture.

Shop Size: ★★★★★
This store is massive, spanning 4 floors filled with treasures.
3rd Floor: Dive into plastic models, figures, and games.
4th Floor: Discover a world of business books.
5th Floor: Explore comics, CDs, and more.
6th Floor: A haven for animation fans, offering a wide selection and rare finds.
Definitely make a beeline for the 6th floor; it's a wonderland of inventory, surprisingly spacious, and showcases rare items.
Number of Items: ★★★★★
The variety is astounding, from acrylic stands to badges across multiple genres. Fans of Jump, Anime, and Ikemen, rejoice! You'll find ample Dragon Ball and One Piece figurines, along with SPY x FAMILY, Chainsaw Man, and more. Plus, don't miss the retro games and manga scattered throughout.
Crowdedness: ★★★★☆
Despite its location just minutes from Shinjuku station, the store's higher floors, like the 6th, remain pleasantly uncrowded, even on weekdays. Weekends might tell a different story, though.
Rare Items: ★★★★☆
While the showcases may be compact, they're packed with a diverse range of items, offering plenty of unique finds and deals, especially for fans of Ensemble Stars, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Tokyo Revengers.
Uniqueness: ★★★★★
As a second-hand shop, its extensive stock and manageable crowd levels make it a dream for merchandise hunters. It stands out as one of the best second-hand stores in Tokyo, in my view.
